Normal practice for police officers?

My boyfriend of 3 years is a police officer and I found out he’s been cheating on me with sex workers. Things have always been a little odd with him and I passed it off. One thing that really sticks in my mind and screams at me is he would always have a bunch of photos HE TOOK of women on his phone from police calls he’s taken. They were ALL women. He said his job requires him to take a photo of the people who call in and They just all happen to be women. They’re not posed photos or anything. Just a quick shot of the woman. There was even a women with bruises all over her face and she looked off guard and awkward/scared sitting on a couch and it was very dim lighting. and he said it was from a call. Sometimes he’ll have a photo of their bedroom with no one in it but it’s an intentional photo. He never deletes these photos. Just keeps them forever. Is this normal police practice? It feels like something is off. Obviously I’m not staying with him so it’s not my issue anymore but it doesn’t seem right. Something is just always off with him. He goes MIA for hours sometimes and then acts like nothing happened.

Just want to add: his two brothers are also officers and his dad is the chief and just retired.
