How to make sure I dont smell bad down there?

I really would like my partner to go down on me, but super self conscious if I smell down there or something
How do you ladies do it.. and make sure you dont smell? Obviously showers, but sometimes things happen spontaneously? 
If you plan a shower, how far in advance?
