Is spicy food allowed whilst breastfeeding?

Maybe a dumb question but I'm genuinely curious if spicy food is a no no during breastfeeding?

Spicy food is ok for you to consume. However, the acidity may get to your breastmilk and give baby a tummy ache.

Yes it’s allowed, your baby might not be able to tolerate it though. I couldn’t eat anything remotely spicy until my daughter was almost a year old

I ate spicy food all the time when I was breast feeding my son and he’s just fine. It just depends on your baby’s tummy. If you eat something spicy and notice some tummy trouble like pain or gas then I would avoid it.

Yes. Of course. Everything is "allowed". But sometimes soemthing is just not ok with baby. For example mine had a lot of gas if I ate spicy, or cabbage or apples. So I just avouded these for some time.

Pretty much any food is allowed while breastfeeding. Your breastmilk is made from your blood, which is why things like alcohol, medication, and vitamins (which enter your bloodstream) need to be considered.
