Is “Mako” way too out there? Too unusual?

Mako is my top name choice right now.  It has meaning to me, and meets my other preferences: unique, easy to spell, short,  1-2 syllable, ocean themed.   
It reminds me of Micah and Nico, so it doesn’t seem TOO crazy, right?  Pronounced “MAY ko”.

In my opinion, it's not too out there, so if you like it, go for it! It's not something I would consider for my kid, but not because it's a bad name, it's just not my style.
That being said, the only problem I see with it is that my brain would automatically want to pronounce it Maa-koh (with a long A), cause I don't know about you, but when I saw this I thought japanese origin, not sharks in the slightest 😅 - so you might wanna consider tweaking the spelling a little if you want it pronounced May-ko? Just my two cents 🤷‍♀️

I find it odd and would automatically think of a mako shark but I dont actually think its bad. I have seen some names on here that are just down right ridiculous but this isn't one of them. It would grow on me lol
