Contractions or Braxton hicks?

I’m 37 weeks 3 days today I started what maybe having contractions about 3 something this morning they aren’t close together enough to consider going to the dr. I’ve had stabbing pains in my spine? Never experienced anything like that before. I’m plenty hydrated just don’t know if it’s real labor or not. No show and cervix wasn’t dilated this past week when I went in to get checked.

So far it sounds like Braxton Hicks. Sometimes I even get constant Braxton Hicks but they eventually die off. Keep timing them and if they get more steady and more of a pattern then trying taking a bath, hydrating, and then laying on your left side for a while. If they don’t stop after that then they are probably the real deal. Your spine could be hurting if baby is sitting on a nerve or pushed against it. Keep monitoring it

With my first I would have Braxton hicks ALL the time, even if I was moving and changing positions, drinking water, nothing helped me. As I got closer to having my son they would happen more often, so maybe you’re getting close to labor!! Contractions either start in your back and in the front of your pelvic and you’ll feel lots of pressure with a tight belly of course, Braxton hicks just give you that super tight uncomfortable belly. (This is my personal experience)
