Are silicones bad for your hair? What can happen after using it? I’m asking because it’s in almost every shampoo!

So I been trying to keep my hair healthy & free of anything toxic, my biggest fear is catching cancer from using specific products that can cause it overtime
My first question is does silicone cause that? And also is silicone bad for your hair overall? What can happen long term of using it?

It depends if you have curly/coils and even straight hair. It’s not good because it creates a barrier on your hair causing no moisture to be able to get in and silicones can only be removed with sulfate shampoo which dries your hair out so much. If you don’t remove the silicone it can cause great build up overtime and weigh your hair down.

I love it, you can scan pretty much any item, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, makeup (i think), even food, etc. and it tells you everything that’s in them and what they mean, or why they’re bad for you and gives a rating on how good they are for you, i was very surprised to see how many shampoos are bad for you😅
