Am I wrong?

Question

For context- my boyfriend & I have been together for nearly 8 years and we are in our early 20s. 
My boyfriend is extremely passionate about playing guitar. He plays it very frequently (usually every day for an hour or more). The first couple years we were together I would sit and listen to him play, but he usually plays the exact same stuff and now I just end up putting my earbuds in my phone & watching YouTube videos or getting stuff done while he plays. 
Is this wrong of me? Should I stop everything I’m doing and listen to him like I used to? Or is it okay that I’m watching YouTube videos while he plays?

i don’t think you’re wrong. but i think it would be nice to check out his music like you used to every once in awhile. it shows that you care about his passions and support him. and that’s always a nice feeling :)

You are not wrong. Does he show he is hurt by you not listening to him play? Maybe suggest he play something different. Atleast try to show you still have interest. My husband is into sharks, i have no interest and i don’t understand his hobby but i try to support him by listening or watching jaws for the 10th time.

What is you request a song? Then you can hear some new stuff and he feels heard. 
I used to do the same thing with my husband when we were dating. But he’s switched his playing to a style that I don’t like, so usually after the kids are asleep he goes and plays a couple times a week and I just watch a movie to read.

My husband plays guitar a few hours a day. Sometimes I sit with him, sometimes I don't. I enjoy it when I'm available and support him by recording him and giving feedback about tone and quality and such. He is happy when I do my own hobbies too though.

Are you guys communicating about it? Does this offend him? Is this just practice time for him or is he trying to show you something? Have you asked him about it?
