Weird bruising

Today I have noticed some 3 weird bruises on my sons back. He hasn’t hit it on anything and they have only shown up in like the last 24 hours. Has anyone experienced anything like this, also he is on monthly appointments with his doctor as he hasn’t gained weight since September
