Screen time?

Question

How much screen time does your child get each day? Either phone, tv, tablet, or whatever it is they use. Just curious how other parents are handling it 😊

Our tv is on basically from 9:30/10a until dinner time. Its background noise. She plays while she listens to it but most of the time doesnt actively sit down and watch it

It depends on the day and on the season. We don’t limit screen time. During the spring and summer when we are outside most of the day, it’s maybe an hour- but during the winter it’s a looooooot more. I’m also 34 weeks pregnant so my son has been watching a lot more screens lately. We do other stuff too- but I feel terrible my son is stuck with me all day long when I have 0 energy. He’s got quite the imagination and loves to play too and we bake cookies, he helps me cook, takes baths, colors, plays play dough. But I run out of energy trying to keep him busy. 
We also just got over a huge snowstorm so we were literally stuck inside unless my husband was home and then we’d try to get out for a walk or go play in the snow- I wasn’t trying to do that by myself.

To be honest, 1-2 hours. Today, he’s sick, and literally watched tv all day. It is what it is over here- we utilize as much as needed but try to balance it out as well.

30 min before lunch and 30 min before dinner. About once per week our 3 year old has a bit more (maybe 20 min) if we’re doing a leapfrog learning adventure together.

Gotta be honest here. I have 2 toddlers at home and recently gave birth so the TV has been on literally all day. They don’t necessarily watch all day but the option is there. My husband lets them watch it a lot more than I ever have so that will be fun to break when he goes back to work in a few weeks lol
I still suspect it will be on for a few hours as I’m in Ontario and of course we are into another full lockdown so stuck at home, literally no where to go with 3 kids.

I try to only use it on special occasions. At most maybe an hour a day if they do and it's typically a kids tv show like mickey mouse clubhouse or super simple songs on YouTube.
