Depends on the brand. Clearblue digital advances says fmu only, the standard digital says you can use fmu if you prefer it.

I took mine between 10am -2pm everyday & I didn’t miss my peak .

They recommend first urine in the morning as it contains for hormone but honestly if you’re LH surge is high it’ll show. I recommend taking one in the AM and PM to compare the both, sometime your surge increases through the day. 
So both is fine
