For newborn car seat…….. I can’t decide!

I had the Chicco Bravo travel system for my daughter, a December baby, and it was great to strap her in while we were still warm in the house and just have to snap the car seat  in quick and be able to keep her warm in her car seat when we were going in places. For food shopping though I usually put her in a chest carrier starting at a few months old after covid started because the car seat took up half the shopping cart. We started leaving the car seat in the car most of the time around 6 months, but I could leave her in there with a cover when in public. We switched her to a convertible car seat around 8 months. I will use the carrier again for my next baby too.

I'm pregnant with my 3rd and I've never bought an infant seat. I didn't have a problem with baby waking up when I move them, I'll put baby in a wrap and they just snooze away. I refused to lug a car seat up a flight of stairs every time I got home because we had done that with my niece before I had my first and I hated it! I just don't understand why people want to carry that thing around 😂 I also didn't want to have to buy two, so just buying one that will last forever made more sense to me.

I purchased this one. I accidentally caught it on sale at Walmart for $90 very nice car seat I love it💕

We have one of each but I only use this one. My son was premature and the carrier type his head flopped all over the place. Our stroller is a pram type so we don’t need the carrier car seat to use it. It’s nice to have on occasion like in restaurants and stuff but it’s for sure not necessary

This isn’t what I have! But one thing I read that helped me decide between infant carrier and convertible for a newborn was if baby falls asleep, do you want to risk waking them up by moving them? Or do you want them to stay asleep while you move their entire “bed”? However, they get so heavy in that car seat. We had to stop around 8 or 9 months because my son just got too heavy (and he’s lower percentile!).

I got this after my son screamed incessantly every single time I put him in an infant car seat because he had reflux so bad . I didn’t care at that point about moving him sleeping, and since he was my 4th kid I was upset I hadn’t gotten an all in one until now 😂 lugging that heavy infant seat around was awful.

I'm on baby 3 I had my first 2  13 months appart I personally would definitely get an infant seat very annoying to have to wake baby all the time buy a stroller that it can attach to which most do these days.
