How did you get your LO to sleep through the night?

Time and patience. My oldest didnt sleep through the night until she was one. My youngest is 7 months and still doesnt sleep through the night either. I dont believe in sleep training so it was never an option for us. We encouraged sleep through a strict bed routine but as soon as my oldest hit 1 year it kinda just clicked for her

My daughter started deciding when she was ready for bed at 1 months old. She refused toys, bottle, pacifier. Every night at 9pm she decided that she was going to sleep and slept through the night til 9am or sometimes even 10am. She decided that on her own and she still does.

Honestly, one night I just waited before I went into his room to see what he would do and he ended up falling back asleep. He wakes up throughout the night quite a bit but doesn’t need anything from me. He will sit up and talk and laugh and then fall back asleep. Sometimes when he is trying to get comfy he will cry but I’ve realized he isn’t actually awake I think he is just annoyed he needs to get comfy again cause by the time I check the monitor and see what he is doing he is in a comfy spot and sleeping. I think giving your child some time when they wake up before intervening is a good place to start. Obviously if they are crying at the top of their lungs tend to them. For a little bit I had to just go in and pat his bum or rub his back and let him know it was okay and he could go back to sleep and sometimes for naps I have to do this still so he  naps longer than 45 minutes . There are times my son will wake up at 5am and be up for an hour but not crying, just rolling and babbling and sitting and crawling and then falls back asleep and will wake up again around 7am for the day. He literally just gave out a little cry as I was typing this just trying to get comfy. He is also a thumb sucker so I find sometimes he needs to find his thumb to fall back asleep. Remember every baby is different and he has been like this since 6 weeks old. Your baby might need the comfort for awhile still. Just listen to your babies cues :)
