Tattoos During Pregnancy

Hi all, please be kind and please no judgement. I’m a first time mom and want some opinions and information.

I got a tattoo before I found out I was pregnant, and by then I was already 3 weeks. I’m 10 weeks now and everything is going very smoothly.

My dilemma here is that I paid a hefty non-refundable amount (2k) for the full tattoo and two sessions, the second of which is coming up this week. I’ve been doing research and trying to figure out what I should do as I don’t want to be a bad mom.

Obviously, my child is more important to me than money and I’ve been stressing out about this and waiting for my doctor appointment to talk to my doctor. So I wanted your opinions and insight on this topic as I want to protect my child.

Everything I’ve read says you should just make sure the tattoo artist uses brand new needles (he does) and that he’s a reputable artist (he is).

What should I do? Should I wait until the baby is 9 months old to finish this tattoo? Or should I just get it done this upcoming Tuesday?
