Sizes for clothing ?!

How many of each size should you have? 
We don’t think we will need to many newborn or 0 but we are not sure if we need more of something or the other.

I haven’t bought any newborn this time! I bought loads of newborn clothes for my first as I was told he was bottom percentile for weight! He was born at 6lbs 14oz but was too LONG for newborn clothes 😭😂😂 had to cut the feet off sleepsuits for him to use them 🙈😂

Every baba is different. My first one went through the clothes more or less as per the tags.. Out of NB/0-1 at 1 month, out of 0-3 at 3 month.. 3-6 she wore tad longer, and now at 10,5 months were just about in 6-9 still.. Will have to dig out 9-12 in a week or two, I'd say..
My friend's baba who is only 10 days older has been in 9-12 for a month or two now, and is about to move to 12-18 shortly..
But as a general rule I wouldn't get overly many new born ones, as you tend to get least time out of them..

This has been seriously on my mind a LOT cause I had zero idea what to do. I currently have 7 sleepers in newborn and 0-3 month. And about 10 onesies each (shortsleeve and long sleeve) in newborn and 0-3 month. Even if she’s in the newborn for only two weeks, I just don’t want to do laundry every day so that’s how I reasoned that many. I might get more after she’s here depending on how that goes. I have like two pairs of footed pants in both sizes. And friends have gotten cute new born outfits for me but that’s it. I haven’t gotten anything 3-6 yet just cause I have zero idea how many I will really need or what the weather will be like by then.

We bought lots of newborn and 0-3 month clothes for our first, then she spent the first month or so pretty much exclusively wrapped up in swaddles (snugly for nap time, loosely over a diaper for snuggling, nursing, and tummy time).  Getting clothes ready for #2 now and I can’t believe how many NB onesies we never even used the first time around!  You’re prob safe with just a few - good luck!

I have a few nb from my first, but she only wore them for like 2 or 3 weeks, she's 2 in 5T clothing, so it's been a trip keeping up lol. If you stick with Staples in a range of sizes (onesies and zip PJs are life!) You'll be able to survive while you fill gaps👍

It's really going to depend on the baby. My daughter was in a 2t at a year old, so we blew thru sizes quickly and nothing I planned on by age matched up seasonally. But our neighbor girl who is the same age, is a slow grower, now at 3.5 she's just starting to wear 3t, where my daughter is starting 5t stuff. And my girl is perfectly healthy, slim, just a bigger child and pretty tall. Prepping helps but this time I just did the bare essentials for now, probably 10 onsies per size, same for pjs, some pants for when I knew we would be in winter or spring, booties, socks, the jackets and coats I'm waiting until we know the size. I've gotton most of our clothes free this time so I have less or more depending on that. With my first kid I had a shopping issue and had enough for 4-5 kids and she never even wore it all.

I think we have 4 sleepers and 2 or 3 outfits in newborn from my first that we had to buy in the hospital since she was smaller than we thought, but she outgrew them by 3ish weeks. All her other clothes she was right around the biggest month when she grew out of them. 3 months for 0-3 month clothing, etc. But she has consistently been in the 50th percentile or right below the 50th percentile her whole life and shes 2 now. We have way more 0-3 clothing than any other size just because they spit up or poop so much that you may need a few outfits a day. We try to get by with less and just wash more often since they tend to not stay the same size for too long. Its also so easy to ship clothes to your house in 2 days or do a target pick up if you need more outfits. I would start with one or 2 per day and then go from there. Also jammies count as outfits at this stage.

With my first son, he wore NB for about a month. Then went quickly through 3-6 month clothes, and was in 6-9 month for quite awhile. But every baby is different, so it’s tough to guess! I would say bigger is always better in my opinion, don’t go buying a ton of newborn clothes because some babies don’t even wear them for that long. Same with diapers.

I brought 8 sleepers & 4 onesies of each size up to 9 months.. we wash every weekend.. & being covid, she won't be going anywhere
