So I don’t really care how this comes off, but my mother in law is very self centered. Her son (my husband) thinks so too.

We had a gender reveal over zoom for our families… and the day before I specifically told her not to react or respond until after my husband reaction (she tends to make everything about herself/ steal the spotlight a lot).

So RIGHT as we are announcing “it’s a girl!!” She is talking over us saying how she can’t see ya cos she doesn’t understand how zoom works. My brother also said something but I can edit out his voice easily.

It will be hard to edit her voice out of the video without completely redubbing the moment (I guess I’ll have to learn how)…. I told her afterwards I was upset about it and of course she doesn’t understand that she did anything wrong and to at least apologize cos I’m hurt about it and then victimizes herself saying “oh well I’m sorry that I ruined your entire day”.

My husband told me I shouldn’t have said anything to her cos I was mad and to wait until I’ve cooled down, but it’s been a day and I’m still so livid about it, I woke up annoyed and just restricted her account on Instagram so she can’t respond to every single story I post and comment about HERSELF every day. We stayed with her for Xmas for 4 days and this woman didn’t even ask her son more than 1 question the whole time!

Can anyone help me get over this situation?? I am still so mad about it! Mind you she didn’t even attempt to go to our wedding cos she got liposuction (even tho there was a virtual element there too). But maybe she would have talked over the “I do” part because of zoom compilations.

How do I get over these feelings of resentment???
