Give baby formula after breastfeeding ?? ….

My son is 2 weeks old and I have been exclusively breastfeeding him and his doctor said he’s growing great. lately I have been thinking about giving him formula because sometimes It seems he’s not getting full enough on my breastmilk. Sometimes he wants to nurse for almost 2 hours !!! And it feels exhausting to keep up with it physically and mentally.

He’s cluster feeding and it’s normal! Adding in formula can cause your milk supply to dip, which would not be good over time.
If baby is growing well, having at or above 6wet/1dirty diaper per day, and is overall happy and in a good mood, I’d say don’t change a thing. Sounds like you’re doing great. Cluster feeding is absolutely exhausting, but a necessary part of breastfeeding for most since that’s baby telling your body to make more milk for upcoming growth spurts.

Just know that by doing that your supply may decline. Sometimes babies just suck for comfort or they go through growth spurs and it will happen more than once where it seems like all you do is have him attached to your boob non- stop. It is an exhausting job. Breastfeeding is like a full time job and it can be hard on the mom. But sometimes you have to choose your mental health. While I am a person who fully support Breastfeeding I also understand that as long as baby is being fed is the most important thing. Good luck in your decision. ❤❤

He's going through a growth spurt. During those times I make sure I have every convenience I can at hand since I'm not moving for a while.

Well that is normal nursing that long.   If your supply is long those nursing sessions are what improve your supply.  But you can do what is best for you mentally.   But nursing like that is very normal and as long hes hes gaining weight theres no need to worry

Look up clustrr feeding.
Basically what you should remember, is that when baby is gaining well, you don't need to supplement. There is another reason for things.
