Nursing school?

I am currently a stay home I’m working on getting into the nursing program at my community college. I actually can apply this fall and I’m getting really nervous. I’ve worked in healthcare before so I know what it entails and what I’m putting into it.

However I was hoping somebody could give me some insight on to how clinicals work. I don’t have much for childcare so I was wondering are clinicals only during semester hours. Like say fall semester starts do you and when the semester ends and then get your winter break and have holidays still?

Or do clinicals continue on through your holiday season?

(Save the negativity I know many healthcare professionals give up their time away from their families and work the holidays)

However being a stay at home mom for five years and having limited childcare I’m now suddenly worried that I’m going to miss Christmas with my kids and they’re not gonna have anybody to celebrate with while I’m in nursing school working on clinicals. I don’t have aspirations to work in a hospital or nursing home where I would there be there 24 seven I have my own personal goals in mind and those who do that I am surely grateful for and thank you for keeping the Communities you working safe and devoting your time to that. There’s so much more you could do in the nursing provision other than emergency and 24 seven care, If that’s career suicide for me that people like to say then so be it.

So basically I’m just wondering if you did your nursing clinicals only during semester hours and still got normal college breaks out if Clinicals go all year and don’t stop while you’re on the program.

If you have anything to offer it would be greatly appreciated it thank you
