Chemical pregnancies

Hi I’ve had 2 chemical pregnancies in a row and currently trying again but does this signal something could be wrong I had a vaginal scan and was told everything looked good I’m extremely regular never had any issues with my cycles was it just bad luck?

Chemicals are very common and miscarriage in general sadly happens to 1 in 4 women.I had two chemicals but not back to back months. My obgyn thought it was low progesterone, but I ended up going to a specialist and found out my thyroid needed some medication. Then the month I started thyroid meds - I got my bfp. I’m not saying that’s what it is for you BUT you should advocate for yourself and request a hormone panel, or ask for recurrent loss panel, ask for them to test your AMH, FSH, vitamin d, thyroid panel tsh, t3, t4.I would make sure the ultrasound they did was on cycle day 10,11,12 etc before ovulation. I would get your cycles day 3 and 21 labs. If you like to read , check out “IT STARTS WITH THE EGG”. If you’re over 30 and want a supplement take Jarrow coq10 in the morning. In general for health, try to get in more vegetables, focus on sleep, reducing stress. I Also did acupuncture and highly recommend that!

My comment on the ultrasound was to check follicles and lining. It won’t prevent a chemical . It’s just more information to gather . By and large the cause of a chemical is chromosomal abnormalities. Which can be caused by egg or Sperm.

Completely agree. Also, ultrasounds won't show too much at this point. Chemicals happen for a few reasons but it's not that straight forward. Low progesterone is one of the reasons, or a hormonal imbalance which affects the ability to keep a pregnancy. Another reason could be the quality of the egg/sperm, sperm can be tested for DNA fragmentation - these usually are some of the causes for the "incorrect" number of chromosomes in the embryo which lead to expelling it out from the body through a miscarriage. A full hormonal checkup is definitely recommended to rule out some of these ideas and it's the best one can do to figure out if something is wrong, but indeed, the sad reality is that some of them happen without any explicit reason.

I can’t answer your question for certain, but I also had two back to back chemicals recently and have very regular cycles. My doctor said nothing is wrong and to keep trying. You are not alone!
