Yeast infection due to birth control

I took my first ever birth control pill yesterday Jan 18, then at night i had itchiness in my vagina later on i saw discharges and knew i had yeast infection. Since before using birth control, i will often have recurrent yeast infection about once to twice a year. Is my yeast infection now, due to me taking birth control?
