Should I tip a hair dresser?

I got extensions it costed $2,200 they asked if I wanted to tip I didn’t know what so I said $15 cause I don’t really understand it and that’s the max I could spend well she misheard me and charge me $50 which I know sounds similar but how do hair stylist make their money? Do I even have to tip when it’s already over 2,000?? I don’t want to shit on my stylist because I used to be a waitress I know how that is but I don’t know how hair and nail salons pay

UPDATE: thank god I didn’t tip her more she didn’t even do them right color didn’t match and she used way to much hair and she was very pushy I couldn’t even plan my next appointment she made it herself I found a new salon that cost $200 for move ups and she went in and fixed all the last girls mistakes without charging me out the ass for it I’m still upset I spent all that money for a bad job and really wish for some of my money back but it’s to late 🥺
