I’m 30 weeks 5 days and have been experiencing spotting the last few days… usually after a bowel movement. I don’t think I am even straining that hard. Anyone have this happen?

I spotted first trimester and it stopped second trimester until last weekend after intercourse, I had a bit of a bright red bleed. Went to labor and delivery and they said the cervix was still long and thick but the tiniest bit dilated at the opening and it seems that the irritation is at the opening which caused the bleed. Then I had a full on ultrasound last week at my high risk doctor where they checked the cervix again and essentially did another anatomy scan of the baby and everything looked normal and the doc said cervix is still thick as well. Of course spotting happened after they did the transvaginal ultrasound last week on the cervix but it stopped for a few days until the last three days when it started back up with bowel movements.

Just a bit unsettling… it’s more pink/brown mixed with discharge and the OB said given the thorough check I had and that the spotting is minimal that it should be ok and to just be on pelvic rest and take it easy.

My first OB for my first pregnancy did say I have a friable or very sensitive cervix that tends to spot easily.

Anyone have similar experiences? Looking for support!
