ADHD diagnosis

Good Morning!

My 6 year old son has recently been diagnosed with ADHD. I’ve seen the symptoms for a while but now his doctor prescribed meds. I can’t get myself to get him to start taking them. My main concern is the side affects, mostly weight loss because he is already a picky eater and very slender. He’s 99% for height so that makes up for it but I already have issues with him eating or trying new foods and I feel like when he starts the meds, it’ll only get worse. I know he needs them to focus in school and do better but I’m stuck on what to do.

Any other moms here dealing with this?
