Owlet Smart Sock App?

I bought the Owlet Smart Sock 2 a couple years ago brand new, even before trying for baby. But I’ve heard recently that they took the app off of the App Store or something. Is there a different app I’m supposed to use now?

If you have an android device you may be able to still download the app from google play. I have an iPhone and redownloaded the app today and it hooked up with no problem! I have the owlet sock 2.

I’m in the same boat. There is still an owlet app. When you try to pair the sock though, it tries to update your sock to their new version “dream sock” which just tracks sleep patterns. Once updated, it can’t go back. From what I understand, as long as you don’t update it, it will still alert on the docking station in your house, just not on your app. But I’m not positive. I’m going to try it out once baby is here to see if it still works.

I think they took the app off of IOS until the FDA clears it  but they want it to be registered as a medical device. I think there’s some sort of web app you can use? I’m not sure though.

I really wanted to buy the owlet sock until I learned that the FDA forced Owlet to recall their devices from selling in stores until FDA approval because having a heart rate AND oxygen monitor classifies it as a medical device. As a result, after November 16, if you download the app, only certain information will show (I assume the oxygen monitoring tracking has been removed, but I don’t have an Owlet sock because I downloaded the app too late to use one). 
I have heard that they are coming out with a “new” product sometime this or next month. I’m sure you can sign up for email updates on their website to find out more info. 
So in summary, your device will still work, but if you didn’t download the app and create an account before November 16, I’m not sure what aspects of the sock you will be able to use. I also read that some socks burned babies feet and some gave lots of false readings.
