I have read quite a few, especially ones where mama didn’t know she was in labor until almost too late! I love to hear them.

Not crazy but interesting for sure.
I’m white american. When I was 4 months pregnant my family and I moved to Africa. We did a lot of mission work. Water projects, started some schools. Anyways I was 18 and alone so moved with my family. I ended up having to have a emergency c section there at 35 weeks. My doctor was the president of Uganda wife’s Obgyn. I was the only white women to deliver in the hospital ever. They don’t have nicu.

Idk if this is crazy, but I’ve had 3 homebirths (having my 4th in March) and the first 2 times my midwife didn’t make it, and my husband caught baby.

Not crazy or anything but 3 out of 6 of my labours ended with shoulder dystocia. They said it’s not common to happen in general but to have so many, in their words I’m a midwife’s worst nightmare 😂

I had super weird contractions that threw of my doctors. One of them lasted 14 minutes and was off the chart. They both just sort of stood there looking at the monitor and looking at me like “how the hell are you not screaming in pain.” 
I also had hiccups the entire time I was pushing. Doc said that was a first.
My uterus is also almost entirely on my right side so they had just about every student in the hospital come check my fundal height after I delivered.

Not super crazy or anything, but I always joked that I hoped I'd be able to sleep through some of my labor (even though I was highly doubting id be able to do that). I got induced at midnight and didn't get much sleep beforehand due to nerves and such. I was in labor for about 22 hours, and was actually able to sleep through a great deal of it. In the beginning when contractions weren't so bad I slept a lot (granted it was also the middle of the night!) And after contractions got worse I took pain meds that helped me sleep. Overall I was actually pretty rested when It came time to push!!

I had 3 homebirths. With my first baby, I was convinced I'd be in labour for 12+ hours. So when I woke up with contractions at around 11:20pm I wasn't too concerned but I was surprised as I was only 38 weeks. I fully expected to at least get to 40 weeks, lol. Anyway, there was no way I could go back to sleep as the contractions were coming every 5-10 mins so I laboured by myself for a while. Didn't want to wake my husband up as I figured he'd need to be fresh for the next day. The contractions were pretty mild so I managed good. Around 2:30am my husband woke up and I told him I was in labour, he was wide awake then! At 2:50 my waters broke, and it felt like my contractions went from 0-10. I was like, how the heck do I manage hours of contractions like this??? I decided it was time to call the midwife, and she said she'd be there asap. But she lives an hour away and while she was on her way I felt the need to push. Baby boy was born about half an hour later at 4:50am. Midwife arrived 10 mins later. I never ever thought I'd have such a fast labour.
With my second, contractions started at 5pm. They were spaced kind of far apart and very mild. I texted my midwife an hour later and told it it was happening. She told me to let her know when I wanted her to come. By 8:30 the contractions were happening about every 10-15 mins so I told her to come. 10 minutes later I felt intense pressure so I felt down there and the head was right there! Baby boy was born 5 mins later. He pretty much flew out, head and all, in just 1 contraction and I needed quite a bit of stitches. My husband forgot to call the midwife and tell her baby was born already so when she arrived she was shocked when she realized she missed it for the second time.
With my 3rd baby, I woke up at 3am with contractions. I wondered if this was the real thing as I'd been having prodromal labour on and off for about a month. But by 3:40 i decided to just call the midwife and let her know. This time she had a new assistant midwife who lived only 10 mins from me so she came over. Sure enough, I was already 6cm dilated. My midwife arrived at 5am and baby girl was born at 5:45am.

I forgot to fill my car with gas so we had to stop on our way to the hospital 😂. When we got to the hospital I was 3cm dilated, was stuck at 3 for an hour, was given a shot of morphine, then dilated to 7cm in one hour. The nurses told me not to hesitate to come to the hospital when baby #2 is coming. Everything was very quick!

I thought I was having Braxton hicks contractions because I wasn’t at the “you can’t talk through them” point. Apparently I just have a high pain tolerance. By the time it got unbearable and we went to the hospital, I was 7 cm dilated. I was a first timer so my doctor assumed I’d dilate pretty slowly. He checked me about an hour after I got the epidural and then was calling for the birthing team because apparently I was either crowning or close to it 🤣. They all really had to use the bathroom so he put me on pause for a minute or two while the birthing team used the bathroom and then they came back. I pushed for all of 5 minutes. Total labor time was about 15-16 hours. Before he checked me, my doctor was convinced my baby wouldn’t be born until the next day. Surprise 🤣. Afterward, he volunteered to be my doctor if we decided to have more kids later because I was “the easiest delivery I’ve ever done in all my years practicing medicine”.

I had an unusual and traumatic birth with my first son who kindly gave me 3 weeks slow labour and 72 hours established labour so when I got rushed down to theatre for a C section he decided he would finally start coming out vaginally 🤦‍♀️ instead of the C section I gained a 3 inch cut into my bum cheek because they needed him out that fast with forceps. My 2nd son I went from 5cm - 10cm within 4 minutes but the midwives didn't believe me so I was screaming "the ring of fire" at the top of my lungs until they checked and said "oh goodness yes you're ready to push"
