If they cut you a 1099, you absolutely have to file it, if it was cash, 3500 or less, or a W-2 for less than 3500, then it’s your decision.. But Florida does not have a state tax, only federal, like Las Vegas, they get their state taxes from tourism, and you basically do it as self-employed, and if you owe money, you include your deductions to less than what you owe. For every 5000 that you make you owe about $706 unless you deduct expenses. But also remember that you need to show that You actually can live. You can’t say the entire year I only made $12 so that you don’t owe taxes no one can live on $12 for an entire year. You still need to be able to pay all your bills.

I believe if it’s less than 12,000$ you don’t need to claim it. But you can check on turbo tax or one of those tax services
