Diaper shopping?

This is my first and I have no idea! Any tips/help would be appreciated..
Do you wait to shop for diapers after baby is born? I have a few freebies from the welcome boxes and then whatever I guess the hospital will provide. I just have no idea what you’re supposed to do and if I should wait to see what baby will fit/tolerate, etc. 
Should I just buy one box of Size 1 and then see what baby likes or go ham?

I bought angel new born and my baby reacted to it with diaper rash. Had to discard and buy huggies. Don’t buy too many just yet.

I got the small package size until I know what works for her. Every kid is different and will react differently and be shaped different. I don’t wanna spend the money until I know what works 😂

If you know you're going to be able to reach full term, I'd advise buying the size 1 diapers now and about 2 boxes so you can hide at home and recover longer. My twins will be two weeks premie so I bought 2 boxes of newborn diapers in hopes that itll last till they can fit in size 1 by the time I finish the storage of diapers my husband and I created 😂😅 and we bought them when I was... maybe 16 w along? So to me, its never too early to stockpile on diapers.

I’ve bought newborn and size 1, and have been gifted size 2 and size 1. I’ll see what baby fits into at the hospital before I open any of the boxes. If the newborn are too small then I will exchange them for size 1. So far I just have Pampers Swaddlers, they worked best for my son (I know all babies are different).

I waited until after they were born because I didn’t know what size they would need and what brand the hospital would give me. Pampers newborn for my first kiddo and huggies for my second. My current and third will most likely need premie but we are doing pampers. However, still waiting until she is born to see what the hospital gives us.

My first wasn’t in newborn diapers very long, I don’t think even finished a small box before switching to size 1. My second was in newborn a little longer. My daughter reacted to all cheap diapers and we could only use Pampers for her (Huggies didn’t cause a reaction but always leaked for her) so I wouldn’t buy a ton until you know for sure they work for you. My son could tolerate anything but it took a while to figure out what fit him best and didn’t leak. Once we figure it out this time I’m probably going to do a target or Amazon subscription so I don’t have to remember to buy more all the time.
