Do you believe in posting eachother and writing long paragraphs confessing your love for one another? Lol I learn with my ex boyfriends to not do that anymore. I feel like social media is a joke. What do you think?

When people post stuff like that I wonder if they are trying to convince me or themselves that they are happy 😂🙈. I do find it cringey, like a pic or whatever is fine, it’s when they post soppy essays or an ‘inspiration quote’ with it urgh 🤢🤮

I don’t have social media so maybe I am biased , but you don’t need to post about your love life to be happy. In my past experience when people over post about their relationships it’s because they are glamorizing their life/relationship & making it seem perfect , when it’s not. I could care less what a bunch of strangers & acquaintances think. My friends and family KNOW because they are in my actual life, not just online. I don’t have anything to prove to anybody. I get it if you use social media regularly , it’s normal to post pictures of your partner and family, but it’s not necessary to prove anything. It doesn’t hold actual value. It’s one thing if you are actively hiding your relationship to give a single presence whilst you’re online, but in all honesty posting about your relationship isn’t going to stop someone from cheating on you or just because they post you doesn’t mean they won’t cheat. It’s just silly.

My bf and I have been together for 3 years, in those years we have only posted each other one time. I don’t really care about social media and neither does he, he’s only on it because he puts his tire business on there. Him and I are more shy and hate putting our whole lives out there. . If you like your relationship public go ahead.

No. It’s gross and weird and I question who they are trying to convince. We tag each other in photos OF EACH OTHER and that’s it. Like normal people 💁🏼‍♀️

Every so often, I’ve included my boyfriend in a post but not over the top. More like “going into the new year with my love!” And a picture. But for the long mushy gushy stuff, we write each other letters! For real. Both handwritten and typed. And sometimes if we just got done with an arguement, I’ll ask him to write me a letter of the things he loves about me or notices. And I do the same for him. But it’s a private thing, not a public stunt.

I think post like that are embarrassing, they just don’t make sense. I feel like they are more attention seeking than affectionate. 
If you want to say something sentimental and sweet, say it in person and in private.
