How do you organize child care as a single mother doing shift work?

FTM here hoping for some words of advice…I’m worried about finding flexible childcare, as my immediate family lives too far away to help me, and I work shifts 7-3, 3-11, and 11-7. How would I even function working a night shift and needing sleep but having to be up for babe? More child care to sleep? I fear this would deplete most of my income and I am stressing TF out! Please help me figure this out?

Try looking for an in home daycare. The lady I go to is very flexible with parents and told me she kept one of the kids until midnight one night because the mom is a waitress and was working a closing shift.

I had a friend who used to help me out a lot, my alarm goes off for work at 345 and I’m out of the house by 410. If I didn’t have her help I would have had to look for another job. You can try and find a babysitter/nanny to help with those hours but it’s not easy. Not many people wanted to work those hours and I don’t blame them, I don’t even want to 😂

Maybe find a nanny who has a flexible schedule, there’s no childcare around me that would work with those hours. I’d have to find someone to personally do it. Do you have any friends that can help?

Is moving closer to family an option? It’s just so much easier, stress wise & financially, flexibility wise as well
