Any Etsy sellers?

Question

How do you make money when they charge SO many fees! I’ve had two orders in the past two days, and I lost money due to the fees. I don’t offer free shipping either. 
Also, taxes! Since they take out taxes will I be able to file next year? Where I live I don’t need a business license to run my Etsy. I’ll want to become legit if my “business” continues to grow.

I sell on Etsy and for me I factor in the fees into my pricing along with how much everything cost to make the product and my profit that way I’m making money and not losing money. I don’t offer free shipping unless the order is over $35 or more which gives the customer to buy more from you so they can get free shipping. As for taxes this year they have changed it so starting January 31st if you make over $600 or more in sales you will need to file taxes for next year. Etsy sent an email last month regarding the new tax regulations for this year. Just make sure you have your tax payer number in your settings if not they will suspend your account ending of this month.
