My son get ear infections every few months it seems. He’s allergic to amoxicillin so this last time he was on cedfinir and it didn’t work, so now on Monday his pediatrician wants to do 3 days of a shot once a day… I don’t like this idea. He’s acting 100% fine and no fever or anything !! Should I get a second opinion on Monday?? She also said that he may need tubes.. I will do what’s best for him but I’m also more of a hippie mom and try to stay away from a lot of antibiotics… trying olive oil for the weekend. She also said that he has a lot of ear wax build up which I read that can cause ear infections too. So idk what to do because also been told not to use q tips and if the wax is that deep I can’t get it out.. so that’s why I’m trying to see if the olive oil will help with the build up. Also one more thing ha.. she said ear infections can be caused by allergies, so I did give him some allergy music to help with fluid drainage if that helps any. Any mommas have some eland ice or words of encouragement???
