IUI suggestions

Next month I start artificial insemination. Have any of you ladies experienced this. What should I expect?

Back story:

I’m 29. I’ve been trying to conceive for about a year now. I was recently told my right Fallopian tube is closed (dye ran through tube but did not spill out). The doctor suggested to leave it alone because more harm can be done than good. I’m kind of considering doing both IUI and opening the tube but I am a bit afraid of undergoing the surgery. I also have to try IUI 3 times before I can do IVF hopefully IUI will impregnate me. Any kind words or suggestions? I’m super nervous & afraid.
