Sleeping in
I wanted to get your opinions on this. I’m just curious of your thoughts and this isn’t a complaint.
My husband works from home and I’m a SAHM. My 16 month old is a pretty good sleeper normally but with teething she’s been getting up during the night, at times. So I’m the one who gets up with her. During the week, my husband gets up at 8:00 to start work. He’s usually on his computer by 8:10. Lately he’s been taking the monitor (without me knowing) with him when he gets up. Our daughter has been waking up at 7/7:30am (according to owlet). He’s been letting her hang out in bed until 8:30 when she starts getting vocal. Even though I don’t have the monitor near me I still wake up to her. So I don’t really “sleep in” because momma can her. So my schedule is like 8:30 wake up.
Now on the weekends I get up with her at 7/7:30 because he’s not up. Now here’s my inquiry: my husband will sleep in till 11:30 on Saturday and Sunday. I know the thought is “well he lets me sleep in during the week” but I don’t really. I’m up once I hear her (just a little later because the monitor isn’t by my head). I never sleep in as late as he does (on the weekends).
Is it fair for one parent to sleep in so much while the other doesn’t? I mean he’s the one who works so it is, right? Maybe I’m just a little jelly 😅😅
Edit to add: sorry I forgot to put this before. 🙈 He takes the monitor but leaves our elderly dog in the bedroom with me. As soon as he leaves the room our dog whines and talks to me to get up and let her out/feed her.
