The flu...
So my youngest (2yo) started with a cough and runny nose Wednesday. Friday he spiked a fever and tested positive for the flu. By Saturday evening fever was gone. Today (Sunday) he still has a nasty cough and runny nose I messaged his daycare provider, and because his fever is gone, he is clear to return to daycare tomorrow. Is the flu no longer contagious once the fever is gone? Last time I had the flu I was 13 or 14. I looked it up and read you are contagious for a couple days after and as long as you have symptoms. Now I will add, that anytime he gets a runny nose he then gets a cough and it lasts longer than usual, and he gets coughs often. I was told it possibly has something to do with his adenoids. I do have work tomorrow, but also don't want to risk infecting the other kids. Anyone know if the fever or the cough/runny nose is the contagious factor? I have not gone through this with my oldest. I can call the pediatrician in the morning as well, but hoping for a quick answer here. Thanks
