How does monitoring ovulation work?

My husband and I want to start trying for our first in September of this year. Do you take an ovulation test everyday? If not how often?

You test 2-3days after your period ends 2/3times a day until you get a positive opk. After the initial positive 12-48hrs is when ovulation should occur if you don’t have any underlying issues. Also opks don’t confirm ovulation you have to use bbt to confirm this which is to be used everyday before you get up.

Every day 2 or 3 times a day you need to test for ovulation. Also ovulation test do no confirm ovulation they only detect your lh hourme surge but you may fail to ovulate when you see peak. You need to also be using bbt basic body temperature to confirm ovulation has occurred when you see a positive ovulation test. You also could start tracking in the coming month to get to know your pattern as it can take sometime to fall pregnant. Are you currently on any form of birth control
