When to feed?

Should I wake my 2 week old to feed through the night or wait until she shows hunger cues to feed?

Here is some info from an IBCLC. You need to wake baby no more than 4-5hrs at night.

My pediatrician said it was fine to let baby sleep if they made it back to their birth weight by the 2-week visit.

I 100% woke the baby at this age and though the first 4-6 weeks. 3 hours is what I did if my baby didn't get up naturally. 
Their brains grow so much, they need the energy. they aren't meant to sleep through the night so young. 
Feed that brain girl!

Your pediatrician will let you know if you need to wake to feed (for example as to why: not back to birth weight or not gaining weight) so if your pediatrician didn't say to wake then get some rest!! ❤️

At the hospital they had us wake up every 2 hours to feed but when we went home everyone told us not to wake the baby up and that they’ll cry when they’re hungry. My son cried every 2/3 hours at night so it didn’t matter but don’t wake them up sleep until they tell you they’re hungry

I would never wake a sleeping baby unless doc specifically said to because they weren’t gaining weight or back to birth weight. I never had that issue with my babies and therefore never woke them when sleeping.

My doctor recommended waking baby from naps after 2 hours (if they don’t wake up on their own) - so they’re eating every 2-3 during the day - and then letting them let you know at night. So long as they’ve gained their birth weight back. My baby still wakes up every 3 hours at night BUT it does help me get more sleep because I’m not worried about what time he needs to eat at night.

Don’t wake a sleeping babe. 
A good rule to follow is babe can sleep 1 hour longer than weeks old. So an 8 week old can sleep 9 hours at night. During the day, feed on demand or every 3-4 hours whichever comes first. 
My girl has always woken every 2-3 hours and she 5 months old. Lol so enjoy your sleep if babe will go longer stretches at night.
