Facing potential induction - FTM - would love some guidance
I’m 37 weeks today with my first baby. Doctor said last week at 36 weeks that my belly measured at 34 weeks, and so she scheduled a growth scan today. Baby is healthy per ultrasound but measuring smaller than average at 5lbs 11oz at 37 weeks. We measured my belly and it measured at 35 weeks so belly grew from last week which is great. We also did an NST and she passed (active baby girl). Doctor’s plan is to do NST next week at 38 weeks to monitor baby, and then second growth scan at 39 weeks where they will determine if they’re going to induce me then because baby will be more successful growing outside of me.
I am a smaller sized woman, weighed 6.5lbs when I was born and was late too. I’m only 5 feet tall and petite today. So they think she’s healthy but taking after me.
I really would love to avoid an induction and have had such a healthy pregnancy all the way through. I have been working out the entire time, baby has been head down since 26 weeks and she dropped at 34 weeks (major lightening pain for the last weeks weeks too). I started drinking the raspberry leaf tea and added in the birthing ball exercises to help keep baby engaged.
Is there anything else I can do to help move things along naturally? I just want my baby to be safe. Anyone else going through this?
