Elimination diet for breastfed baby
Hi all, my baby has had lots of trouble with gas. It often interferes with his sleep. We have tried everything to get it under control: lots of burping, bicycle kicks, massage, bath, gas drops, etc.
None of that seems to work. His pedi recommended I remove milk, egg, wheat, and soy from my diet. I have him on hypoallergenic formula while I am regularly pumping to keep up my supply. He seems more comfortable since he stopped nursing, so I think I really need to buckle down and stick to this diet, although it’s really hard!
Has anyone had success with an elimination diet? How soon after you stopped eating the trigger foods did you see an improvement while still breastfeeding? For how long did you avoid those foods while breastfeeding? I’m hopeful in a few weeks or months I can start reintroducing these foods to my regular diet without issue.
