One month postpartum body...
I'm one month pp today.. does anyone else's pp body look like mine? I'd love to see photos and hear stories from other women going through a similar thing.
I knew my body wouldn't look as it used to immediately after birth and I know that it will take time to repair (much more than a month, for sure). But everywhere I look, I never see pp stomachs like mine. Even directly after birth. Everyone else just seems to have smooth, nice skin and some pudge to lose but that's all! Nothing too crazy..
I'm naturally slim with a flat stomach and tiny waist, but now I have a pooch, loose skin, lots of stretch marks, and a very obvious linea nigra which has fully covered my previously cute outie belly button. I also have severe diastasis recti (8 fingers) and sometimes my intestines can be seen moving around from the outside (I've never seen or heard of this happening before!). I have started physio but feel a bit helpless nonetheless.
This was my first pregnancy and not a multiple birth but a larger sized baby (3.9kg) born by c section.
My weight is now only a few kg more than my pre pregnancy weight but the shape of my stomach, appearance of my skin, and posture are awful.
I'm proud of what my body has done and had I known this would happen, I'd still have my baby a thousand times over. But it doesn't change that it's hard to look in the mirror and see a body I no longer recognise or feel reflects who I am.
Anyone else?! Please 😭🙏
