When to stop sleeping on my back?

I don’t see my midwife for a few weeks. Also can I sleep on my back/side like at an angle? I can’t sleep strictly on my side all night

Sleep like you feel comfortable.
If you get uncomfortable, you move. Simple as that 😊

Sleep however you’re comfortable. The reason you’ll hear to avoid sleeping on your back is for concern that all of the extra weight will compress your larger vessels and compromise blood flow to baby. However, that’s actually pretty rare. And when it does happen, you’ll feel sick and naturally shift before blood flow to baby is compromised. I personally couldn’t lay on my back or even sit straight up and down while I was pregnant. Because of baby’s position and my own personal health history, my heart would race and my pressure would drop. So I would naturally end up in any position most comfortable for me. I do have to say left side is best for preventing heartburn because of anatomy!

I’m 31 weeks, most nights I’m on my back, it’s most comfortable and I can still feel him move regularly. I can’t really sleep on my left, his head is on my left and really low, when I do he hits me nonstop until I flip. My right side isn’t terrible and I try to sleep on it as much as I can, but he kicks my gallbladder and it hurts like hell. Your body will tell you how to sleep, as long as you’re not physically sick from the pressure of baby on your nerves you’re okay.

Ok, so you can sleep however is comfortable. If that’s your back, then great. If it’s your sides, also great. The thing that some women don’t understand is that your body will tell you naturally when it needs to flip/change positions. The reasons it’s not recommended to sleep on your back is because as the baby grows, their weight can cause a certain blood vessel that circulates to your heart, which ultimately helps the blood for baby to circulate, to be constricted. I’m 31+4 and I still end up on my back sometimes. And I’ll also say, when I lay on my left side sometimes, even though that’s the most recommended side, I can’t breathe as well sometimes. 
Basically, once you get later in pregnancy start on your side, but don’t freak out if you end up on your back. If you wanna start on your back, prop yourself up a bit to help you. I do this as well. 
I’m not a medical professional, but I do have medical knowledge and training. And also have multiple family members, one who has been practicing for 20+ years, in the field who say the exact same thing.
