My birth story with osteogenesis imperfectica type 2
Hello, would like to explain more of my birth story as alot of you ladies have been supportive and I definitely appreciate all the prayers and love.
At around 22weeks gestation I had my anatomy scan were we discovered that my little one had very very short long bones and that was typically associated with bone dysplasia. After reviewing all of our options in our state we decided to have a amnio and carry her till 34weeks gestation for my own health after we discovered that her type of dysplasia was incompatible with life. Her heart was enlarged 2 times it’s size and basically made it impossible for her little lungs to develop.
We decided that at 34 weeks she would be brought into this world, I woke up the morning of the 4th feeling very overwhelmed and anxious. It was pretty routine this would have been my 6th little one, and 6th C-section. We went in two hours early waited for meds and fluid and before we knew it, it was time to go back. After getting my spinal and waiting with my SO it was extremely quiet the doctor then says “oh aren’t you just the cutest & everyone said awe” she was 2.11pounds and 13inches. She did have multiple leg bone fractures and her right wrist was also fractured. She had hair and came out trying to fight with all her might. She never really tried hard to breathe I seen her take all of about 3/4 labored breaths but couldn’t really get any air in, she never cried and coughed twice for us trying to figure out how to breathe.
As they were finishing closing me up, my SO stepped into recovery with baby kyomi and I soon followed she had a lingering heart beat until they put her on my chest and she passed right then and there.
We kept her in the room with us for two days and it was hard but comforting knowing she was loved until her last minutes, she lasted a total of 34 minutes.
We are home now and it’s been rough but we are pulling through for our other kids. I really do appreciate all the love I’ve gotten from this app. I’m still around seeing all these other beautiful babies be born 💕. Praying for all of you and safe deliveries💕.
RIP my sweet Kyomi 💕
