When to start planning baby’s 1st birthday?

When did you start planning baby’s first birthday? FTM and I’m not sure when to start planning or what to even do or plan.

So many variables. Pick your date, time and location, and theme if you're having a theme. Make sure invites go out early, we sent them out roughly a month before her party. Once you've made those decisions buy a couple decorations at a time instead of all at once, it helps avoid over buying just because the stuff is in front of you, and ultimately is better for your wallet. We reserved tables and chairs a week before and picked them up the weekend of her party, same with her cake. If you give yourself time you can order stuff online and it saves lots of money.

Depends on how big of a party you want. You can start thinking about it as early as you want. I would think of your guest list and decide where you want to have it first. If it’s at home with a small guest list then you can get away with more last-minute planning. If you have a venue in mind, it will depend completely on how far out they get booked.
