Is it bad to take baby aspirin when you find out your pregnant to prevent miscarriage? I had a mc in Jan. My ob said baby aspirin is bad before 12 weeks but I read it can help prevent early pregnancy loss. What do you guys think?

After two miscarriages, my obgyn (she’s a research doctor at Northwestern in Chicago) actually suggested I start taking baby aspirin before we started trying again. I don’t know your specific situation, but it couldn’t help to get a second opinion. I know a lot of women that have been put on it. It reduces the risk of getting preeclampsia, blood clots and helps with blood flow to the uterus. Hoping it works this cycle!

My ob told me to start taking 81mg of aspirin as soon as I get a pos test and call her so they can start trending labs and get me on progesterone. But I’m 39 and have had 4 losses. It’s worth it to get a second opinion.

Aspirin will only help certain people. Only those who had a Mc because of a clotting issue. So it could help but it could also not help.
