Is it normal if my partner who lives 40 mins away, only has time to see me once every 2 weeks?

My boyfriend lived in NY and I live in Florida. He worked for Delta so he could easily come down. He stafted visiting me after 1 year of talking. He wasnt sure if he wanted a serious relationship at first. When he did start visiting At first it was a few days in one month. Then it was on his days off every 2 weeks. He was able to take time off during When Covid first hit and he would spend weeks with me then go back home for 2 weeks and fly down. He now lives with me.

When we lived 30 minutes apart we saw each other every single day unless one of us was out of town. Drove back and forth on weekdays and stayed together Friday/ Saturday. He even drove to pick me up and take me back home a few times when roads were bad and we had plans at his place. Then after 6 months we just moved in together. Every other weekend is ridiculous, that’s not a serious relationship to me at all that’s a casual fling.

I think it depends on the circumstances. When I was in college my husband (then boyfriend) lived 45 min away and we saw each other like once a week or every other week depending on his work schedule and my cheerleading schedule. If it’s a situation where your schedules don’t line up well and it’s not permanent, then it’s no biggie. But if you both have reliable transportation and no significant scheduling conflicts then I would personally not be happy with the situation.

I mean, what’s going on in his life? Gotta give more details. If he’s working a ton and has other things to do on top of it then yeah I can understand why he’s not coming often. Also, 40 minutes each way can be rough after a long day at work. I drive that back and forth four days/week and it freaking sucks. Why can’t you drive to see him?

Depends on age, job, etc. I make it to my lash appointment 40 minutes away once every 9 days and my schedule is fucked. You make time for the things you want to make time for.
