so i (19) have been officially dating my boyfriend (22) for 3 months now. we’ve been talking for about 4-5 months and have know each other for 2 years. I have met his parents and brother and go over to his place all the time to hangout, but he has never met my parents nor been to my house.

i am extremely picky with who i bring into my house/introduce to my family. on top of that my parents are portuguese and are extremely strict, scary, filterless and overall just a lot to deal with when these sorts of things happen. my entire family is super close and is super judgemental when it comes to meeting people. it’s normal for cousins/family members to not introduce a significant other to the family for 2+ years. and it’s pretty normal to not introduce a significant other to immediate family for months.

my boyfriend expressed to me last night that it’s weird he hasn’t met my parents and that other people would think it’s weird too since we’ve been dating for a while now. i on the other hand don’t think it’s that weird and that i have my reasons as to why i’ve taken this long to introduce them. he’s meeting them later this month but i feel like he shouldn’t lowkey rush me to introduce them.
