Hello. I need some insite.

My fiance and I are having a tiny ceremony (basically a courthouse feel) with only him, myself, and our friend who's giving us a ride.

This was supposed to happen on M 21st.

Today, my fiance called to talk to his family, and let them know. His niece reminded him that M 21st is her wedding anniversary (I thought it was M 20th) and he said that we would just move it to the 22nd.

We were already planning on having a larger ceremony a few years later that we'd invite our friends and family to. So I figured that they (his niece and her husband) could always just go about their normal anniversary things for this one and then the ceremony that we have later on would be on a different day.

The thing is, M 21st marks 1 year of him and I being together at all and I was really wanting to have that be the day we got married too. But he's not wanting to take anything away from her anniversary. Like, I understand that they are really close, but just because HER wedding anniversary is M 21st, doesn't change the fact of it being our 1 year either...

I'm just really feeling conflicted and like I may be overreacting to this...? I don't know, I'm just lost rn...

What would you guys do? Do you think I'm overreacting?
