Baby eczema???

My daughter has had super dry skin over the last few weeks and I noticed a couple days ago it has slowly turned into dry red patches on her belly and on one arm. Is this eczema? Any ideas how I can clear this up?

Our little one who is over a year old has had a real tough time with Eczema. It’s a toss up, sometimes they grow out of it and sometimes they don’t.  It’s alarming but it seems to look a lot worse than what it actually bothers him.
My wife and I have found that every detergent, soap shampoo, lotion  etc that has the least amount of dyes, chemicals, ingredients you can’t pronounce the better. Even things like “lavender” which are “calming” can make our sons skin flare up. A lot of products will let you know if they are for Eczema.
It always seems to be the worst after bath time. We always do a bath before bed and we lather him up at the first sight of dry skin. That seems to help a lot.
If the issue continues or gets much worse over an extended period of time Contact your pediatrician and they make steroid cremes that you use for 14 days and that puts a mighty dent in it.

try to find soap containing breast milk if that's something you're comfortable with! a used to follow a girl on twitter who did that for her son because nothing else would help and she started making and selling it to other people and it has done wonders for their eczema

My son really only gets it on his cheeks. But I use lots of lotion, normally after bath at night and when my son wakes up for the day. I also do aquaphor on the spots at night. I changed his soap to a dove baby soap and it’s helped us a lot. Also it’s part of our night routine for him to take a bath every night but some babies can’t do that because it dries them out too much. Thankfully it doesn’t my son, but maybe just keep that in mind.

Vaseline or Euceryn daily helps. We usually do it before PJs in the evening.
