Overly Clingy toddler
My LO has always been a high need child and it’s exhausting. Now at almost 3 years old she clings to me even more. She needs constant attention, affection, she won’t accept a No, if I can’t attend to her right away, gets forceful with touching if I don’t want to be touched or if I don’t want to play with her. I explain to her, why I can’t attend to her at the moment. Or why I don’t want to be touched right now. At times she listens but keeps still whining and other times she won’t care and throws tantrums.
NOT sure if this is adding to her clingiest but I’m 6 months pregnant and she knows what’s coming. She’ll be attending daycare soon.
I just get angry and agitated because I have no moment to myself. She follows me Everywhere. She won’t let me sleep, eat, read or watch something, have a conversation, go to the washroom by myself. She always needs attention, it’s wearing me out!!! I don’t think she’s lacking any of it, We have lots of play time, I give her lots of affection but she has no limit.
The only downtime I get is grandma takes her for a few hours.
What am I doing wrong? Is this normal?
