gender selection?

If you got two or more normal embryos, were you able to choose one embryo based on gender? Wonder if someone chose a specific gender of the embryo for transfer.

Yes, we had 5 girls and 2 boys, but we let the embryologist decide which looked best. We chose not to know which gender until after our second ultrasound at the clinic. When we go for baby number two, we'll ask for the opposite gender. If we have a third, I would probably let the embryologist decide again.

I think this may depend what country you live in as well; in Canada we are not allowed to know the gender of the embryos and can not pick.

We would have had the option but chose to transfer first the embryo with the best chance of implantation, and then the second best. They are both boys;)

We had rhe option to choose the gender if we wanted. We didn't want ro so we never found out the gender of the embryos and had the doctor pick the best looking one for the transfer. We found our the gender when I gave birth...but yes we would have had the option. Our clinic let you as long as they were healthy good looking embryos.

Yes. I ended up with 6 embryos. I had 4 boys and 2 girls. I elected to transfer a boy at the time.

I had 2  normal embryos.  1 boy and 1 girl.  The girl was slightly better but we chose the boy.  It failed….  3 months later transferred the girl and she’ll be 3yo next month. 😍. I got 3 normal embryos my 2nd cycle.  1 boy and 2 girls. All the same grade.  Transferred the boy 1st….failed.  33 weeks pregnant with another girl.  I guess I wasn’t meant to have a boy lol.

Our clinic gave us the option to pick our embryo for transfer. All of our embryos were rated high-quality… 2 boys and a girl. My husband and I decided that since you don’t get to pick gender naturally in nature, we left it up to the embryologist to pick. We did though ask which embryo they picked on the day of our transfer cuz I didn’t wanna wait for the 20 week anatomy scan! Haha! We are currently 28 weeks pregnant with a little boy!

We asked our clinic about that since we are doing pgt a testing and they said that we have the right to choose gender if we wanted to. We just have to sign a consent form of the order of preference. Our clinic calls it “family balancing”.
