Advice on moving

So if everything goes to plan, by next year sometime, my husband and I should be moving down to Corpus Cristi, TX for a job opportunity I hope to have after completing college. I have lived in DFW my whole life and have visited Corpus before, last September was my most recent trip there. I am not looking for anyone to crush my dreams and only tell me not to go lol but I would love some feedback on things I should be prepared for before I move and when I get there. What should I expect? I am about 6 hours away so it's not a super small move and the area I would like to be area is near the aquarium, since that's where my job will be. I appreciate any advice!
