Confused ?!?

Why does my pregnancy apps say I'm 5 weeks and the other say I'm 4 weeks 6 days ? The first day of my last period was January 16. I'm just confused on why some due date calculators say 5 weeks and others say 4 weeks 6 days ?? Anyone know why ?

4 weeks and 6 days means you are currently in your 5th week. It wont be a completed 5 weeks until you get to the seventh day, in which you will have started your 6th week. I hope that makes sense.

I think some apps go by an estimated ovulation date instead of last period. I think it's because some cycles can be super long, meaning that some women ovulate later in their cycle. If I remember right, the luteal phase is usually around 12 to 14 days long and begins after ovulation. So some women have a 28 days cycle, which means they most likely ovulate around day 14 while others might have a 32 day cycle and most likely ovulate around day 18 (14 days before their next period is predicted to begin since that is how long the luteal phase typically is).
